Re: CSBBC 2009 RESULTS

The winner of the Amateur event (and a prize of a Traeger Lil' Tex smoker) was: Schitz & Giggles, from the Brantford area. They and 'Rub & Tug' tied in points, but first tie-breaker of bringing in low score, resulted in Schitz & Giggles coming out ahead by 2 pts. A very close result right across the...

St Thomas Partnered Event Info/Website

We have mentioned that the St Thomas event will be held in conjunction and cooperation with a gated concert event/weekend. That event now has their website up and running. Hopefully these nationally-known headliners will be able to draw crowds to both the concerts and to the competition area and ven...

You guys have worked hard to get the ribs to a high level of quality and consistency over the last 2-3 yrs; look forward to seeing ...

Re: Va Cue and cruz

Hey Tim:
Great to hear that it wasn't just the results you guys were chasing, but the overall experience and new friendships. That's what it's about. Because of the Dizzy Pig ties, I've cooked a lot in that area of the US and found that group of bbq'er some of the best folks you'd wanna meet.

Re: CANADA SOUTHERN BBQ CHAMPIONSHIPS

Hey Doug Jr: At this point, just the Traeger is in place. I believe some amateur events have expanded the prize pool to include beyond the 'grand' prize, while others have been the 'winner take all' format. I can't give you a definitive answer right now, but let me just say, that your question/reque...

Re: Paris Results

Happy Smoke More. That's it; thanks Tim! LOL Glad to see you overcame your butt scoopage in London! Yeah, for all the 'negative' that goes on sometimes, the actual events bring out the best in everyone. I hope we all can continue to rally around Ontario bbq. Contact us if there is anything we can do...

Re: Paris Results

Had a great time in Paris!! Regardless of whether there have been an all-time low of 7 teams or an all-time high of 28, it's always been a warm, welcoming bbq event for pros and amateurs alike. Personally, our team had its struggles, but the things I wrote down as 'issues' is minor. Honestly, it jus...

Do you think an inverted WSM lid with a BBQGuru inside could pick up a satellite signal?

Re: CANADA SOUTHERN BBQ CHAMPIONSHIPS

A brief update and info: The rules are finished and have been reviewed and approved by our head judge Mr Harvey "The Enchilada Man" McKay. A few minor formatting issues between my Mac and Mike C's inferior computer ( ) but nothing that can't be sorted out fairly quickly. So look for the rules ...

Re: CANADA SOUTHERN BBQ CHAMPIONSHIPS

any rules yet? Harvey and I hooked up for breakfast down in Chatham last week and went through our current rules and also those of the KCBS and brought in some very subtle changes to what we've been doing here in Ontario the past 4 or 5 years. That is my afternoon job today to work the changes and ...
