Re: Real BBQ is moving north

Sorry I missed you Peter as I just logged on now. Visited the IPM on Saturday... they did have someone doing some smoking on the last row before the trailers... he was smoking pork and beef for sandwiches. Had myself some beef on a bun with some great smokey flavour. Currently on a low carb diet so ...

Re: Real BBQ is moving north

Went to our local fall fair last night here in New Liskeard for an evening out with the kids. Wandering through the aisles of chips, poutine, candy floss and so on; I was drawn by the unmistakable aroma of wood smoke. There, among the regular food vendors was a Lang 84 pumping out some really good ...

Re: Jerk pork tenderloin

When I saw this, I decided to give it a try. I have a jerk marinade that I make (Taken From Guy's Big Bite show). Went to Independant Grocers and they didn't have any scotch bonnets. The only thing with heat were jalapenos and red thai chilis. Thought the thai chili's would be a bit too harsh.. and ...

Re: I smoked for a vegetarian

ABout 3 weeks ago I actually grilled some extra firm tofu. I first marinated it in BBQ sauce and on the grill it went. Got some nice char marks on there too. My vegetarian sister in law said it was good. i tasted it and was surprised at how flavorful it was... I still can't get past the texture thou...

I threw them on the grill to sauce them and caramelize the sauce only... they were fully cooked by the time they hit the grill.

Took about 1.5 hours to assemble... would have gone faster if there had been 2 of us for the whole time. I have to commend NApoleon for having some of the best instructions I've seen. WAs nice to have all the parts compartmentalized and identified. HArdest part for me was securing the BBQ on the fra...

I went to CT today to pick up the TR485. the model up was no longer on sale, but the 485 was reduced 150$. If anyone is looking for this deal, it's not marked discounted in the flyer... however, if you look it up online, it has the 150$ marked off. It rang up correctly at the cash... so I left very ...

I have a question regarding the Napoleon Grills. A while back I posted here about my dilemma... choosing between Weber and Napoleon. I'm curious about the ceramic infrared cooking zone. If this section of the grill gets sooo blazing hot... what do you do on this side besides searing meat? Don't you ...

I did not know the Napolean brand. I'm checking out their website now. There seems to be quite a variety to chose from.

Why Weber?

Okay.... so I'm about ready to drop some serious dough on a weber grill. In the past, my grills have always been cheaper models from Canadian Tire or Walmart. Actually Walmart has some models on clearance, but they are not brands I have heard of. So why should I buy a weber? What made you buy a Webe...
