Re: Brantford, Niagara comp info

" emphasis on what judges may be looking for " can you tell me who explains to the judges on what to look for ? this has always been a thorn in my a$$. even though it is just a am event why can't they just cook the ribs and let the judges choose what they like the best. setting standards for BBQ sh...

Re: Amateur event July 18- Niagara falls area

This seems to be coming along swimmingly. A bit confused, though, by the statement about Cedar Grilling, since Steve's team are THREE TIME NATIONAL BBQ CHAMPS, whereas no other teams holding National BBQ Champ status are mentioned in the thread. Figure to give credit where it belongs and is due. Th...

Re: Amateur event July 18- Niagara falls area

Hey Mike I think what Trev is asking here is if an Amateur is going to be competing against Pro teams, if I read that right. I think that since the CBA is no longer, a comp organizer can basically state whatever they want in the way of rules. I feel that the said event Organizers should be posting ...

Re: Amateur event July 18- Niagara falls area

Trev, rest assured, NO PRO teams are competing at either of these events. Swamp Daddys BBQ, Big Sids BBQ, and Porky's BBQ, will be there to swap stories and help out the amateurs. I consider an Amateur team to be any group, consisting of people who have never competed in a pro event. (not a legal de...

Re: Interesting

That was an interesting statement there Dog. Since you said the Golden Horseshoe, does that mean Niagara Region is getting a comp this summer? The Golden Horseshoe to my understanding is Niagara Region, Hamilton, Burlington area. It sure would be nice to see a comp close to home for a change. :) 8)...

Amateur event July 18- Niagara falls area

Well the date has been finalized, to avoid conflict with the Whitby event we moved it to the July 18th. The location will be Sherkston shores campground, with beer and food sales to the general public. We have live entertainment throughout the day, a Bon Jovi tribute band at night, access to pools a...

Re: Horizontal Smoker or WSM

I'd have to vote for a quality offset, not like the ones found in the big box stores. I have a WSM and think it's great, but I like the offsets.
