Re: Smoking Technique: Controling smoke on charcoal offset smkr

when you add charcoal during the cook,, are you adding cold charcoal,, or is it pre-lit?
Always use pre-lit charcoal,, or you will get that nasty flavor......

Re: Volunteered for work cookout

I did one for about 60 people a few weeks ago. I cooked 60 burgers , 20 sausages ,, and about a dozon (sausage sized) hot-dogs. The sausages were really good , and would have gone through more of them ,, but I wasn't thinking , and kept throwing more bugers on. There were left over burgers , but not...

Re: How to BBQ Round Steaks

A+P has a tendizing marinade , in the meat section ,, little packages.

Does a great job on tougher cuts,, just don't keep them in it for too long , or it'll taste salty.

cook'm med-rare,,, serve'm thinly sliced against the grain.........

My 2 cents worth.

Re: Lucky score

one thing to keep in mind is use a "chimney" , to pre-light any charcoal you add to the smoker during the cook. And make sure its going before adding it. If you add "cold" unlit charcoal to the smoker during the cook , you will get that "dirty smoke" bitter charcoal flavor .... cuold that have been ...

Amateur Roll-call

I thought I'd put up a post, to see how many folks on the board are participating in the amateur event in Paris this Sunday ?

I'm looking forward to it.............although the "long range" forecast doesn't look to exciting.

Cheers

Re: 3 Control Burner (Universal)

I'm using a universal single on my old BBQ at the trailer,, on a lil' double burner grill. I just never use the other valve anymore. Just make sure the burner unit fits , kinda,, and the tubes kinda line up. Obvioulsy , make sure the universal replacement is the same shape as the one that comes out....
