Dizzy Pig Shrimp

Post by Schultz » Fri Jul 14, 2006 12:58 pm

I visited Brian at Strodes and pick up some of his monster shrimp and a jar of Jamaican Firewalk. I marinaded 6 shrimp with juice of 1/2 orange and applied a liberal amount of the rub. I grilled over briquettes made of coconut shells and finished them off with a brushing of melted butter. In one word-INCREDIBLE. That is an awesome rub you made Mike!

Schultz:
Thanks! I really like that one with seafood too. Most 'jerk' style dry rubs are just too heavy on the allspice for my tastes and that's why we veered off a bit for this 'jerk inspired' rub rather than a straight ahead jerk clone.
My daughter has taken a real shine to grilled shrimp too and I did some up for her last night in fact.
Did you remember to follow the 'lather, rinse, repeat' rub application instructions on the side of the jar? We find it really helps boost repeat sales! :P

  I love that. I just don't want to think about how many people would follow that instruction.
