Just ordered a Traeger

Post by doogster » Wed Jul 29, 2009 9:56 pm

After weeks of deliberation I finally ordered a Traeger. I got the junior, this is just me, if there's garlic or onion in it the cats aint getting it. Wow, it actually includes a cover. $100 less than another BBQ that includes nothing. What am I going to do with that?

Spend it on pellets.
Good choice doogster. I don't have a Treager, but I'd love to own one.

It was a good price, $400 US, including shipping, the cover included, and 2 bags of pellets. Has the 3 speed motor, don't know if you can add the thermostat to it, it doesn't mention it like the other models, but I'm sure I can get used to the settings.

I was checking out a small Traeger forum last night, I was surprised to find they are now made in China. Mine arrived yesterday, not bad, overnighted when they included free shipping is pretty impressive. I checked on the box this morning and it does indeed say (quite small writing) Made in China. That's not a huge deal, except they really should amend the video they have on Youtube where they make a point of stating they're made in Oregon. Just my thoughts.

Traeger was purchased by an investment company last year, and to decrease production costs and maximise profits started production in the PRC.
At least that is my understanding.
