BBQ and Bears

Post by Charcoal » Thu Jun 18, 2009 10:28 pm

I go to a family cottage near Wilberforce Ontario. Its between Bancroft to the East and Haliburton to the West. I would like to some smoking this summer, but I have concerns about attracting bears. They are in the area, I have seen them (½ mile). Has anyone any experience doing long cooks like pork butt or brisket in areas with these furry friends.

I don't worry about them at all myself. We live in an area where bears are very common and have never had a problem. Just don't leave the garbage out at night and you will be OK.
