My First Brisket(food porn)

Post by sirjonascook » Sat Jun 27, 2009 10:04 am

I cooked my first brisket yesterday and it turned out awsome. i used a mustard rub with a beef rub spice from traeger to coat it with. The brisket was about 6 pounds and it around 8 to nine hours to cook on low on my treager. this is definatly a real nice cut of meat. Here are some pictures.

OMG that looks awesome. Also started salivating within two pictures. ;-) You had me at "mustard rub".

What temperature did you get it to? Anything you'd do differently next time? I am really keen to try a brisket, and this post has done a helluva job at motivating me!

i took the brisket to 195 and then let it rest wrapped up in the cooler for about 2 hours. the only thing i would try differntly next time would be to try injecting and or use a marinade to see how it comes out. I would definatly do a brisket again.
