I am waiting to hear back from the organizer if they will still accept our entry. If they will, then we will be there.

Here is the alternate email addy….
mailbags2@aol.com
The lady’s name is Pam and I have her phone number if you would prefer to speak with her on the phone…pm me for the number if you want/need it….

Can any team join this one?

Post by Smoked Meets » Fri Aug 01, 2008 12:25 pm

Hey Guys,

Johnny from Smoked Meets here. I am not sure if Merlin is still a go or not. I have been trying to follow the theard and see talk that the comp. was going to be removed from the website, but to date has not. So I am not sure if it is still a go or not.

If not can any team compete in this one? and is it to late to join?

Is this the same George as the comp in September?

Sorry for all the questions, we are still learning the ropes.

Your best bet is to call Ray or" Honcho" and tell him you're coming. PM either me or Dave( whittdog) to get the number. It's a little different then what you're used to, you can only cook 3 of the usual 4 meats and have to decide what 3 beforehand, there is no garnish and you have to submit 7 rather than 6 pieces for the judges. To be honest, it's an easy format.

I talked with Ray this morning and they are excited to get as many Canadian teams as possible and have lots of room, so come on down.

FYI. I believe it is in a parking lot, so bring something to tie your tents down with.

Also, Dave , i tried that email address and it bounced back as invalid.

The addy worked for me...at least it didn't bounce back...any ways..
pretty much what was said above....
BUT I believe there has been some disucssion about letting people cook 4 and taking the 3 best scores....
A call to honcho or Pam will get you in.

Hey Dave

Are they going to call all the teams and let them know you can cook all 4 meats and choose you best 3? If not, i would think that there would be a lot of teams upset when they show up with only 3 meats at the comp.

The last I heard they were waiting to make a decision :?
I explained what you typed above to honcho when I heard about it.....they haven't made a decison on what they were going to do.....
I only put it out there so people could be prepared to cook 4 if necessary..

Thanks Dave, I figured you would have the same concern.

By the way, you know a good place to pick up meat around there?
