This is the oldest and competition in Canada and the Pacific Northwest started by the late firefighter Dave Veljacic "The Fire Chef" and is where most of us on the left coast got our start in competition bbq -for me it was 1995.
This is a great water front venue with a great casino hotel. Should be a blast!

Our team was talking the other night,
We think that next year, with our event in it's 3 rd yr. thing's will be easer on us
we sure would like to make some events to the north, so it looks like it's pass port time

RULES AND REGULATIONS

Ribberfest Hours: 8:00am – 3:00pm

Competition: Participants may use any type of rib meat (moose, pork, beef, etc.)
All cooking methods including charcoal, gas, wood, electrical powered units are permitted. If you require electrical power please contact us immediately.
All cooking must be done on site, no pre-cooked food will be allowed in the competition. Meat will be inspected by an Inspector at 9:00am.
Ribs will be judged at 3:00pm sharp. Each competitor must provide each of the five judges with 3 ribs. They will be judged based on the following criteria: taste, tenderness/texture and overall presentation. Scoring will be based on a scale from 1 (worst) – 5 (best). The best combined score will be crowned our winner. Winners will be announced at the Main Stage at 4:00pm.

Set – Up and Space: All competitors must be on site by 8:00 to begin set up. Location assignments will be made by the Ribberfest Coordinator. The standard space will be a 10’ by 10’ area. The space does not include electricity or a tent. We will provide you with tables and chairs if necessary. Tailgates may be used.

Food and Beverage: Only pre-approved food and beverage vendors will be allowed to sell or distribute food and/or beverages. Other vendors may not distribute food or beverages during Ribberfest.

Winners will own the title of THUNDER BAY’S BEST RIBS!
