Sunshades for Competition

Post by Ohly Smokes » Wed Aug 19, 2009 11:41 am

Hi,
Our team is looking to purchase a canopy/sunshade as we don't have one yet. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks!
Jeff

Great question...

We have two styles the garage port and the ez up. The garage port is very heavy duty and provides great shelter in the rain and wind but must be really secured down or it acts like a kite when the wind gets underneath. We use cargo straps and steaks, the sides come with it, nice very nice. The down fall is that it takes so long to get up and down and at the end of a competition fast is really really beneficial.

The EZ up is exactly what it says, fast up and down and little tiny steaks that come with it seems to hold it down. However it is not as durable in poor weather. There are several models of strength in these you really get what you pay for.

We went with the good garage port and then invested is lesser pop, ups. If you have the money get two nice pop up's with sides... Rain never seems to fall straight...

My best advice for you is to secure your tent right away and ask Diva about her sacrificial tent, she has the best stories.
