hello from Hamilton

Post by meanblondechow » Mon Jul 20, 2009 7:17 pm

Hi All

Just joined, awesome site.

Strictly charcol and and wood bbq'er. Full size broil mate bbq (plus a mini me weber) and a grill pro smoker. Usually bbq during the week with the smoker going on Saturday making dinner and lunch meats (lol, got a smoker got a slicer) for the rest of the week.

I use a variety of woods, hickory maple and oak (chunked and soaked) with a charcol base. I love doing a brisket style roast beef using an outside round instead of brisket, just can't get over the price of brisket. I have done a lot of brining with chicken turkey and pork which I thoroughly enjoy.

I have enjoyed reading your tips and suggestion and look forward to the exchanges in the future.

Jeff

I really appreciate the welcomes you are all most kind. Hey Hippie, King and Ottawa here.

Well I know I'm sick, built a little covered patio a week ago and spent the last 5 hours covered in this pouring rain smoking a rubbed pork loin and eye of the round wrapped in bacon, the sausage is done, beer (hobgoblin) tastes good and pc audio (wireless is sooo cool, lol) is sorta growing on me (is it the music selection or the beer).

Anyway the neighbours laughing at me, must be his round, gotta feelin I'll be out here in the winter once the bbq room addition is built.

Happy smokin all

oh I have a little smoker I got from can tire a few years back and if anyone is interested in getting into a smoker they could have it for free. Its in pretty good shape and is pretty good as a starter.
