Hello from Montreal Quebec

Post by Tim Q » Thu Jul 30, 2009 11:52 pm

Hello everyone,

Very new to the smoking world. I have been surfing the smoking sites for years and I finally purchased a smoker in June 2009. I got myself the 22.5 Weber Smoky Mountain.

My first smoking were a few racks of ribs which were just okay. I blame myself for lack of experience. 2nd attempt were a couple of pork butts. very yummy. 3rd attempt ribs again. Much better this time. Last Tuesday, I smoked a 7 lbs brisket using my own rub. It was in the smoker for about 10 hrs and I can't beleive how moist and tender it turned out. It was to die for!

I have invited about 20 friends to a BBQ at my house in a couple of weeks and I am going to blow them away with my food. I plan on putting on a pork butt, a brisket, and a couple of beer can chickens plus all the fixens. I can't wait!

I am learning so much from sites such as this one. Thanks.

Hi mate, learning is half the fun. My second smoke was a pair of baby back racks, they were edible. But I was rushed, got them on late, no prep, and not enough time in the smoker. Next time they'll be better.
When it comes to beatin's, baby you deserve the best.
